Happy International Women's Day - "Shes & Hers" in Scandinavian Modern Design

Celebrate International Women's Day by honouring prominent women in Scandinavian Modern Design history and their remarkable design treasures.  Nanna Ditzel (1923-2005) Winner of the "Dannebrogordenen", "Honorary Royal Designer" title by the "Royal Society of Arts" London, winner of the Lifelong Artist's Grant of the Danish Ministry of Culture; "Bindesbøll" medalist Nanna Ditzel was inspired by the openwork decoration of gingerbread facades on colonial buildings during her trip to Trinidad Island in the Caribbean in 1993 and designed Trinidad Chair that contrasts with the Scandinavian minimalist design. The chair creates a pattern projecting a sense of movement through the interaction of light and shadow. The CNC technology used in the production of Fredericia was also regarded as a breakthrough in furniture manufacturing technology at that time. Today, a special version of the Trinidad chair is launched in collaboration with Raf Simmons
