Luxury in Scandinavian lighting? Louis Poulsen PH 3/2 Limited Edition Floor Lamp, Known as the "Water Pump"

Previously, I have introduced some of the famous Scandinavian lighting brands and lighting decoration that could be easily spotted in the well-known movies such as 007: Quantum of Solace, the Devil Wears Prada, The Dark Knight. And I have mentioned Louis Poulsen, a celebrating Danish lighting brand established in 1874. And this time, I would like to talk about the Limited Edition, PH 3/2 " The Water Pump" Floor Lamp of Louis Poulsen.

Does the golden ambience that the shades created remind you of the feeling of the old days before electricity became standard in every home? Perhaps sitting at night in the soft glow of kerosene lamps?

For information, in the 1950s, Louis Poulsen introduced a new reading lamp by Poul Henningsen, the celebrated pioneer of Danish design. The lamp was named ‘The Water Pump’ due to its adjustable arm that can be levered up and down.

In honour of Poul Henningsen’s legacy, Louis Poulsen launched the Limited Edition, PH 3/2 Amber Coloured Glass Floor Lamp in 2019. The Water Pump remains PH’s famous three-shade glare-free system since 1926, which Poul Henningsen invented to reduce glare and enhance illumination in his lamp designs according to the Maths concept and calculations.
