Wooden furniture is a common choice in Nordic design, but apart from choosing different woods, did you know that choosing different wood Finish/Surface is also of great significance? The most common surfaces are oil finish and soap finish.

1.    Oil Finish:

Oil-treated wooden furniture is quite resistant to dust, water as well as minor scratches, as wood absorbs the oil thus creating a soft surface.

Oil-treated wood will develop a natural patina, which will only become more and more beautiful over time.

2.    Different woods have different treatment methods for oil finish, and take the renowned Danish brand Fredericia as an example:

Oak and walnut: Clear wax oil

Smoke oak: After hand-polishing, the smoked oak is treated with wax oil

3.    Daily Cleaning:

It is recommended to use a clean dry cloth instead of a damp cloth as much as possible. If you really need a damp cloth to remove the stains, please wipe it with a soft cloth that has been soaked in clean water and then fully wrung out, and afterwards, wipe it with a dry cloth immediately.

If you encounter stubborn stains, you can choose soap powder, pour the soap powder into the water at a ratio of 0.025 to 5 (litre); or use a special oil finish cleaner.

NEVER use chemicals, scouring pads, wire wool or similar items, as they will ruin the surface.
