While the soft lambskin or upholstered seat rests on a solid oak frame making the iconic Clam Chair the perfect bedroom lounge chair, this distinctive chair that dates back to the 1940s is mysterious, as its designer has remained unknown for many years. Initially, the Clam Chair was thought to be the design of Danish designer/architect Viggo Boesen, due to the similarities in the shape of the Clam Chair to Boesen's designs such as the Little Petra Lounge Chair.
